I strangely decided to click to view this dress mainly of curiosity and to get a better look at this odd looking dress. Realizing that underneath the ugly coat was this amazing and beautiful mermaid dress!
When I received the dress it was so simple yet elegant. BUT I did have a couple problems with it. The train was very long (exactly how I wanted it) but there was just to much fabric all around. Lucky, my mother in law seamlessly removed 1/3 of the lace on the sides of the train and it was perfect. Regardless it is still a lot of material to walk in, needless to control the whole day but I did also order a mermaid petticoat to go underneath. The petticoat worked like wonders, it gave the bottom of my dress more shape and made it 100% easier to walk in. BUT if you order a petticoat along with this dress, which I would highly recommend, order the at lease 4 inches longer (along with your heel size). I noticed after putting on the petticoat my dress got shortened by a few inches. I wasn't able to wear my 4 inch heels, so I resorted to wedding sandals instead and that made my day painless and easier.
Lucky, having a Chinese culture background I only wore this wedding dress for 4 hours (ceremony and formal photography). I changed out and into a more comfortable dress afterwards. If you plan to wear this dress the whole day, get someone to help you sew a strong button or wrist string to your train so you can carry it through the night.
Oh and another tip with this dress is don't get a Cathedral veil. It hides the shape of your body and train. Thats what I got and only regretted a shorter lace veil.
I do have to say that this dress looks and photographs beautifully! I did needed some tweaks on the train but to me it was so worth it. If I would had do it all over again knowing the things I still had to do to it... I would DO it again just because I do love this dress.
